BREAKDOWN:

The Mark Trammell Quartet has become synonymous with good, old fashioned quartet singing. Their latest album Keep Telling is another example of this fact. This exciting new project features ten mostly new selections from several beloved and prolific songwriters as well as some from the members of the quartet. Since 2022, the vocal lineup has featured baritone and founder Mark Trammell, his son Nick Trammell at lead, tenor Stephen Adair, bass Will Lane, and pianist Trevor Conkle.
This incredible album opens with the classic quartet tune “Wait Upon The Lord,” which dates back to the 1950s. This catchy song features Will Lane and Stephen Adair trading off on fun step-out lines on the choruses. The title track, featuring the quartet on the verses, is another fun song that reminds us of our responsibility to tell others about Jesus. This great Rodney Griffin-penned song was originally recorded by the Kingdom Heirs in the early 2000s. Stephen Adair takes the lead on the trumpet-led “He’s Still The Same God.” This great anthem reminds us that God is unchanging; He is always the same. He sits on the throne and is in control. Nick Trammell wrote and is featured on the tender, mid-tempo tune “Til You’re The One.” This profound song beautifully paints a picture of Christ the Shepherd. He leaves the fold to find you when you lose your way. The sheep know the Good Shepherd’s Voice. “Sould Redeeming Love” is a energy-filled quartet style tune that is sure to be hit in the concert setting. This fun song reminds us of the transforming power of Christ’s Love and Grace. Mark Trammell takes the lead on the powerful ballad “One Thing For Certain,” which encourages listeners to prepare for the return of Jesus. There is one thing for certain in these uncertain days: Jesus is coming back soon! “The Gift Of Salvation” is another jazzy, Rodney Griffin-penned song previously recorded by the Kingdom Heirs. This version features bass singer Will Lane and simply says: I received the Gift of Salvation and now I know my reason for living. Jesus gave me, a simple sinner, the gift of His Salvation, and now He lives in me. “Making Of Your Miracle, written by pianist Trevor Conkle and featuring Mark Trammell, is another jazzy tune that encourages listeners that God works all things together for your good. While you’re waiting, He is working. Stephen Adair is featured again on the praise-filled anthem “What A Loving God We Serve.” This well crafted song reminds us to put our trust in the God who shows His Love to us every minute of every day. This stellar album closes with the fun, energy filled “Counting My Blessings,” which praises Christ for His many blessings on us.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
Mark Trammell Quartet has yet again delivered a simply brilliant record. Keep Telling features great, old fashioned quartet singing, incredible songs, and top notch production quality. Highlights include: “Counting My Blessings,” “Til You’re The One,” “Wait Upon The Lord,” “Soul Redeeming Love,” and “What A Loving God We Serve.”
