BREAKDOWN:

For thirty years, the award-winning family group The Hyssongs have spread the Gospel through their music. Combining stellar harmonies and classical brass instrumentation, this Maine-based group delivers a unique inspirational Southern Gospel sound. Dell alongside his wife Susan, their son Richard and his wife Kelly minister all over the country and Canada. This exciting new album features eleven songs of hope and inspiration.
The album opens with the declarative anthem “Me And My House,” which simply says: This family will serve the Lord. We will serve Him for He is worthy. “Good News Savior” is a fun, mid-tempo tune that reminds us of the Good News in this bad news world. Dell Hyssong takes the lead on the tender “I’m Glad I Know Jesus.” This sweet song reminds us of Christ’s faithfulness and His Love for us. Richard and Kelly’s daughter Makayla is featured on an energy-filled medley of classic worship songs including: “You Are Good,” “Shout To The Lord,” and “Awesome God.” Richard Hyssong is featured on the powerful ballad “The Voice Of The Master.” This well crafted song proclaims: God is in control. The winds and the waves know His Voice and obey. So why should I fear? “It’s Not Over Yet” encourages listeners to never give up. Trust in God and He will bring you through any challenge you may face. “Majesty” is given an epic and beautiful brass-led instrumental arrangement. “His Beloved, The Redeemed” is a fun, up-tempo tune that looks forward with anticipation to the day Christ comes back for His Beloved. “Death In The Grave” is a triumphant song that praises Jesus for His Ultimate Sacrifice. He conquered death and left it in the grave. He is Risen! “A Reason To Celebrate” is another fun, mid-tempo song of praise featuring each member of the family. This great album closes with the groovy title track which simply says: No matter what life brings, there is always a song to sing!

FINAL THOUGHTS:
This was my first experience listening to this group before and I must say that I am impressed. This album not only features great vocals but stellar instrumentation, well crafted songs, and a unique, signature sound. Highlights include: “I’m Glad I Know Jesus,” “The Voice Of The Master,” “Death In The Grave,” and “Worship Medley.”
