BREAKDOWN:

In 2013, the Craguns began their musical ministry journey. This dynamic and anointed family group features husband and wife Jordan and Elena Cragun, Jordan’s father Ray, and the newest addition: Jordan and Elena’s niece Denecia Innocent. This talented family is no stranger to Gospel music. Ray Cragun sang with a group called Celebration and shared the stage with many notable quartets including the legendary Cathedrals. He then served as a pastor for twenty-five before joining his family in this exciting ministry. Jordan Cragun served as the baritone singer with Liberty Quartet for four years prior to starting the Craguns. Elena traveled and sang in a trio during her early college years. Denecia Innocent, daughter of Elena’s oldest sister, joined the group last year at eighteen years old and brings a warm alto voice. Steadfast Love is the group’s debut on StowTown Records and features twelve well crafted, Biblically strong songs of hope.
This incredible album opens with the tender worshipful track “Faithful.” This powerful song praises Christ for His Faithfulness. He has never failed us. Faithful is what He Is. I will be faithful to Him for He has always been faithful to me! “God’s Love And Me” is a fun, energy filled tune featuring Elena Cragun that exclaims: Nothing can come between me and God. When God is on my side, none can stand against me. “We Have A Refuge” is a tender, mid-tempo country style song that reminds listeners of the security and hope that is found in the Lord. He is Our Shelter from the storm. “If I Wait On The Lord” is a beautiful ballad that reminds us to trust in God’s plan. If I wait on the Lord, I will rise on wings as eagles. “Love From The Sweetest Cup” is a fun, mid-tempo tune featuring Jordan that simply tells of the transforming power and love of Jesus Christ. When I drank love from the sweetest cup, my thirst was satisfied and I have never been the same. Ray Cragun takes the lead on the tender Stuart Hamblen classic “But For The Grace of God.” This powerful lyric simply says: I would be lost were it not for God’s amazing Grace. “As Sure As The Lord Builds The House” is another strong, mid-tempo track that reminds us that we must build our foundation on His Word. Jordan and Elena’s young daughter Scarlett takes the lead on the encouraging mid-tempo tune “If You Ever Wonder If He Loves You.” This incredible song reminds us that the Creator of the Universe Loves You! You are always on His Mind. If you ever wonder if He Loves you, don’t. He sees you, knows you, and cares for you. Scarlett, who is only eleven years old, delivers an incredible vocal performance. She is going to have a bright future in Southern Gospel Music. Jordan takes the lead again on the groovy “Love In My Heart” which praises Christ for the Joy He has given us. The Cragun kids are featured once again on the tender ballad “When I Sit With Jesus.” This time Scarlett is joined by her younger brother Grant in a sweet duet. This beautiful song reminds us of the importance of spending time with Jesus. “Leaving Every Answer Up To You” is a beautiful ballad of sweet surrender featuring Denecia Innocent. This song reminds us that God has everything under control. We can give Him our worries and trust in His timing. This incredible album closes with the group’s take on the Gaither classic “My Faith Still Holds.” This powerful anthem is given incredible treatment here.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
THE CRAGUNS DELIVER A STELLAR ALBUM FEATURING TIGHT FAMILY HARMONIES, ANOINTED SINCERITY, AND POWERFUL FAITH-FILLED SONGS. I HAD HEARD OF THE GROUP BEFORE THIS BUT DID NOT FOLLOW THEM INTENTLY. AFTER LISTENING TO THIS RECORD, I AM THOROUGHLY IMPRESSED NOT ONLY WITH THEIR VOCALS, BUT WITH THEIR TRULY EVIDENT HEARTS FOR THE LORD. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “MY FAITH STILL HOLDS,” “IF YOU EVER WONDER IF HE LOVES YOU,” “WHEN I SIT WITH JESUS,” “BUT FOR THE GRACE OF GOD,” “FAITHFUL”, AND “LEAVING EVERY ANSWER UP TO YOU.”
