BREAKDOWN:

Following the retirement of the legendary McKameys in 2019, Peg and Ruben Bean’s eldest daughter and longtime member Connie Bean Fortner formed a new trio with her husband Roger Fortner and their son Eli. This incredible trio continues the legacy and signature sound of their beloved family group. Holding To Truth is the group’s sophomore recording on Horizon Records. This album is sure to be a blessing to all who listen as it captures that classic McKamey style.

The album opens with up-tempo “To God It’s Nothing New” featuring Connie’s soaring soprano. This fun tune reminds us that there has never been a trial that has taken God by surprise. We are always in God’s protection! Roger Fortner is featured on the mid-tempo country style “A Burden And A Bible.” This tender, yet powerful song tells the call to share the Word of God to all the world. Eli Fortner takes the lead on the mid-tempo tune “I’m Holding To Truth,” which boldly proclaims: I’m safe and secure in Christ Jesus and holding to Truth in these troubling days. “Time And Time Again” is a fun song that simply praises Christ for His Faithfulness. Connie’s signature soprano is featured on the driving, up-tempo tune “Anytime.” This fun song reminds us that we can talk to God anytime through prayer. “Mighty Good Way” is a fun, banjo led tune, featuring Eli, that tells of the journey of life with Christ. There have been ups and downs, but it is a mighty good way. “He Already Made A Way” is a beautiful ballad that reminds that God is faithful always. He has already made a way through each trial you face. Trust in Him. “The Message Of The Ages” is an energy-filled, up-tempo tune that proclaims the message of the ages: Jesus saves!!!! Connie takes the lead once again on the tender “The Realness Of The Spirit.” The realness of the Spirit is why I am free. He worked a miracle when He saved a wretch like me. This stellar album closes with a special a cappella rendition of “Just Preach The Gospel” featuring Ruben Bean, Carol McKamey Woodard, and Sheryl Bean Farris (The McKameys).
