BREAKDOWN:
The Apostolic Boys are back with yet another fantastic recording. This anointed group from Texas features Pastor Joel Pace, his son Jared Pace, bass singer Troy Roach and fan favorite tenor Jeremy Peace. Songs We Wanna Sing is a collection of nine Southern Gospel classics that are sure to lift your spirits.
This trip down memory lane opens with the classic “What A Beautiful Day,” which features great harmonies and the soaring tenor of Jeremy Peace. Troy Roach takes the lead on “When They Ring Those Golden Bells.” Roach does an incredible job on this groovy bass singer standard. He continues to impress me with his smooth bass vocals. Jeremy Peace shines on the Kingsmen classic “In The Name Of Jesus.” This beautiful ballad reminds us that in the Name of Jesus souls can be set free! Joel Pace takes the lead on the Rambos classic “One More River To Cross,” a fun song that looks forward to Heaven. The Cathedrals classic “Land Of The Living” is given a great refresh featuring Jared Pace. This incredible song looks to Heaven where the sting of death will claim no victory. Troy Roach shines once again on the tender classic “I’d Rather Have Jesus.” His smooth bass fits this song perfectly. Joel Pace takes the lead on the rousing, energy filled “Old Time Feelin’.” This Hinsons hit is sure to go over well in concert. The group’s harmonies are on full display on the Florida Boys classic “When He Was On The Cross.” Jared Pace delivers an incredible vocal on the verses of this beautiful song. This stellar project closes with the fun, energy filled tune “There’s A Land.” This Anchormen hit written by the late David Hill is given an incredible treatment here. Jeremy Peace soars into the stratosphere with his unbelievable tenor vocals. This song is already a definite hit in concert as evident from their National Quartet Convention performance.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
THIS IS YET ANOTHER STELLAR ALBUM FROM THE APOSTOLIC BOYS! WHILE THIS IS A TABLE PROJECT WITH A BIT MORE LIMITED BUDGET, IT DOES NOT FEEL OR SOUND LIKE IT. THIS PROJECT IS RIGHT UP MY ALLEY AS I LOVE THE CLASSICS AND GOOD FOUR PART HARMONY. THIS GROUP CONTINUES TO IMPRESS. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE: “THERE’S A LAND,” “LAND OF THE LIVING,” “I’D RATHER HAVE JESUS,” AND “WHEN THEY RING THOSE GOLDEN BELLS.”
STELLAR SONGS, FANTASTIC VOCALS, AND TOP NOTCH MUSICIANSHIP.
4.5 OUT OF 5 STARS!
