THOUGHTS:

For the last two decades, Doug Anderson’s smooth baritone vocals coupled with his fun-loving personality have made him a worldwide favorite in Southern Gospel Music. In addition to serving as baritone vocalist for the multi-award winning Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Anderson lends his voice to the trio Cana’s Voice (featuring TaRanda Greene and Jody McBrayer). He also has a successful solo ministry having released four solo projects two of which garnered him Dove Awards. .

Anderson’s latest release Yesterday,Today, And Tomorrow features eight previously released songs and four brand new tracks that are sure to delight listeners.

Rather than going song by song, I will focus on the new tracks. “Keep On Shining” is a fun, upbeat song that encourages us to place our trust in God and keep on shining our lights for Him. Do not let fear and doubt hold back your destiny. Shine your light for the whole world to see! The first single “Until It Was Me” is a powerful, mid-tempo track that reminds us that God’s Grace is freely given to us. “What Held Me” is Doug’s personal testimony in song. This powerful ballad boldly proclaims: what held me back then, doesn’t hold me anymore! Mercy is an endless open door! God reached down and freed me from the prison of sin. The last new track is the mid-tempo “Thank God For Tomorrow.” This great song praises Christ and thanks Him for each new day and the chance to start over again.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

DOUG ANDERSON IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE VOCALISTS NOT JUST IN SOUTHERN GOSPEL BUT IN ANY GENRE. THIS ALBUM IS AN INCREDIBLE COLLECTION OF FAVORITES AND SOON TO BE FAVORITES. IT CONVEYS THE BEAUTIFUL MESSAGE OF GOD’S GRACE AND GOODNESS. HE IS ALWAYS FAITHFUL. HE IS THE SAME YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND FOREVER! THE FOUR NEW SONGS ARE INCREDIBLE AND ARE SURE TO BE HITS!
